NutriBullet Pro 900 S vs. Nutri Ninja Pro Blender

Price:
  • The NutriBullet will cost nearly $50 more than a Nutri Ninja. You will find the biggest price difference when shopping at Bed, Bath & Beyond. When shopping at Amazon.com, the price difference between the two blenders is not nearly as large, but expect the Nutri Ninja price to continue to fall at Amazon.
Blending Power:
  • Each blender operates at 900 Watts of power. Overall, the blending ability of each blender are nearly equal. Results from blending ice, fruit, and leafy greens will be about the same. If I had to give an edge to a blender, I would choose the Nutri Ninja. Smoothies come out smoother with the Nutri Ninja, this is likely due to an improved blade design
Design:
  • I prefer the sleek design of the Nutri Ninja over that of the cylindrical NutriBullet. With the Nutri Ninja you will get a sharp looking appliance that would fit in any modern kitchen. The NutriBullet 900 is still appealing, but it just not suit my tastes as much.
Features:
  • More functions and features can be found in the NutriBullet 900. With the NutriBullet, you will have the ability to set the blender into an auto-blend function by just pressing down. For the Nutri Ninja, you can only pulse blend, meaning manual control is always required. Also, the NutriBullet 900 comes with a 32 oz blending cup, allowing for multiple servings of smoothies at one time.
Overall:
  • The Nutri Ninja wins out for me as the two blenders. While the NutriBullet may offer a few more features, I ultimately want the best blender for the best price. With that said, the Nutri Ninja Pro Blender is not perfect, but it does a remarkable job at blending single serving smoothies for one low price.

Nutri Ninja Pros and Cons

Nutri Ninja Pro Blender Review

Product Review: Nutri Ninja Pro

Price Range:  $80-$115

Features:
  • 900 Watts of Blending Power
  • BPA-Free On the Go Blending Cups
  • Sleek and Compact Blender Design
Pros:

Make blending fruits and vegetables an easy task every morning with the Nutri Ninja Pro. Creating delicious and healthy drinks each day becomes incredibly simple with the speed and power of the Nutri Ninja Blender. Just throw the ingredients into the blending cup, pulse blend for less than a minute, and be able to drink your smoothie right from the blending cup. No pouring, no intensive prep work, and no major cleaning, just blend and be on the go.

My favorite part of the Nutri Ninja Blender is how compact of a machine it actually is. Nothing annoys me more than a blender that comes with tons of extra gadgets and items I will never use. Along with that, I do not want a cheap looking machine sitting on my counter top. With the Nutri Ninja, I get two blending cups and a sharp looking blending machine. Perfect, I want a minimalist appliance for making smoothies in the morning, not a monster that hogs counter space and needs an entire cabinet dedicated to it.

With 900 Watts of powers, every blending job gets done quickly and efficiently. Making fruit smoothies in the morning with this machine has been easy. Even when adding something hard like chia seeds or flax seeds, this machine can still pulverize these seeds to make for smooth drinking. Ice blends perfectly in this blender, making it great for blending up icy smoothies. Along with ice, frozen fruit also blends up well without any major hiccup.
After blending and drinking a smoothie, cleanup of this machine and blender cup goes by super quickly. Out of all blenders I have come across, the Nutri Ninja has definitely been one of the easiest to clean. Simply rinse out the blending cup after finished drinking, then fill it warm and soapy water to about half way of the blending cup. Once filled with soapy water, pulse it a few times on the blending base. Rinse out the blending cup and the blending blades in the sink of any soap residue and let dry. Alternatively, the blending cup and blending blades can be cleaned out in the dishwasher, just be sure to place the blending blades on the bottom to avoid any potential cuts.

Cons:

For some reason Ninja loudly proclaims that hidden nutrition will be extracted from fruits and vegetables when using this machine. This is simply bad science, as nutrition in fruits and vegetables is not hidden from your teeth in any sort of way. In fact, it is better for you to actually eat whole fruits and vegetables in a side by side comparison due to a more whole fiber content being in non-blended fruits and vegetables. With that said, you may find some added benefit in drinking smoothies if that is the only way you will be able to get down large portions of fruits and green vegetables.

While the Nutri Ninja Blender does a decent job at processing leafy green vegetables, it is still not perfect. You will still encounter small strands of vegetable fiber when using the Nutri Ninja. Honestly, there are two ways around this. One, you could simply blend and pulse like a maniac till they are so small you will likely not notice them a great deal. You could also be sure to make your smoothies icy when using leafy greens. I always notice that icy and thick smoothies makes leafy strands not such a big deal, especially when compared to a straight liquid smoothie. If you are expecting Vitamix level consistency, you will not find it with the Nutri Ninja.

Nutri Ninja Blender vs. NutriBullet Pro 900

Price:

  • You will be able to get the Nutri Ninja Pro for significantly less than the NutriBullet 900. Somewhere in the range of $50 less if you are shopping at Bed, Bath and Beyond. I expect the price of the Nutri Ninja Blender to drop over time on Amazon, but currently the prices are not nearly as differing as BBB,
Design:
  • Honestly, there is little difference between these two blenders. I do prefer the blending blades on the Nutri Ninja Pro when compared to the NutriBullet though, the steel blades seem of higher quality and better constructed.  Both blender offer similar power output, and consistency of blended drinks on both blenders is near identical. I will say though, I find the Nutri Ninja the more attractive blender to leave on a kitchen counter though.
Functions:
  • Both blenders are designed for on-the-go smoothie blending, and both deliver on the promise. With the NutriBullet 900 though, you will get a 32 oz blending cup if you ever want to make a large batch of smoothies that can feed more than one person. With the Nutri Ninja, you can blend two separate smoothies using both blender cups, but the NutriBullet is all around more suited for use of multiple people.
Overall:
  • At a smaller price point, I find the Nutri Ninja a better choice than the NutriBullet 900 Blender. These two blenders do not differ in a huge regard, so the cheapest blender wins out in my opinion. Even with that said, I find the Nutri Ninja to be superior in some qualities, namely its blending blade. Plus, the Ninja Blender Company offers superior customer service than the NutriBullet company.

Value for Money?

The Nutri Ninja Pro Blender stands as a great choice for anyone looking for an affordable blender designed for smoothie making. If all you need is a blender to make single servings of a smoothie at a time, the Nutri Ninja is a great purchase to make. While it will not blend everything perfectly, it handles ice so well that I hardly notice an issue ever arise with tougher things like leafy greens. Overall, I would give the Nutri Ninja Blender a total of 4/5 stars.

Dash Blenders

Dash Chef Series Digital Blender Review

Price Range: $125-$185

Discount: Save at Amazon

Features:

  • 1400 Watts of Blending Power
  • BPA-Free Plastic Blending Container
  • Sleek Design with Intuitive Control Panel
  • Easily Crushes Ice with Help of Included Tamper
Pros:

Experience a level of blending similar to that of the highest priced blender for only a fraction of the price. With the Dash Chef Blender, the amount of blending power unleashed in the kitchen is on par with that of the Vitamix and Blendtec blenders. While Vitamix blenders may cost upwards of $400, the Dash Chef Digital Blender will cost you less than $200 to purchase. For only half the price, experience the full power of a high quality blender with all the great features included.

Blend up all your favorite treats in the kitchen, whether it be an icy green smoothie or homemade peanut butter. The Dash Blender makes it easy to blend tasks often thought to difficult for blenders that cost less than $200. Thanks to the 1400 Watts of Power and the durable blending blades, the toughest of things will be pulverized and liquified.

Digital controls on the dash and the sleek control panel make for simple operation of the blender. Choose from a diversity of blending options already programmed on the blender. Want to blend a smoothie and take care of other things while in the kitchen? Great! The Dash will blend for about a minute on its own until the smoothie is the perfect icy consistency. Making something like nut or seed butters takes a little more work, but a combination of manual blender pulses and tamper action will achieve the creamy quality everybody loves in nut butters.

Impress guests with a modern looking appliance fit for any American counter top. The Dash Blender has one of the sharpest looking builds on the market. Whereas many Vitamix blender are boxy and look somewhat clunky as a result, the Dash Digital Blender looks like a piece of futuristic technology in comparison. Along with a nice blending base, the blending basin also pleases the eye with its smooth, yet sharp shape.

Cleaning the Dash after a blending job could not be any easier. Simply rinse the blender out of any remaining contents after pouring the newly made beverage. After that, add warm soapy water to about a third of the blending space. Place the blending basin on the blender and program to the Rinse function. Your blender will be clean after a final rinse off in the sink, and leave it to dry upside down for best results. Alternatively, the blending basin of the Dash may be washed in the bottom rack of a dishwasher.
Cons:

As many are quick to observe, the Dash Chef Blender takes up a decent amount of counter space. The blending base of this appliance is quite tall, but remains about the same width and length of what could be expected from a Vitamix. Unless you have high cabinets, you will be unable to store the Dash Blender with its blending basin on top of the base under a cabinet. This means you will likely need to store the blending basin in a cabinet when not in use.

If you are looking for a blender to function as a soup maker, I would recommend looking elsewhere. While there is a soup cooking function on the Dash Blender, I find it sub par when compared to the Vitamix. Small chunks may be left in the soup, and it does not seem to come out as silky smooth as Vitamix soups. Furthermore, soup making tends to be the most strenuous part of blending on the motor of a blender, so I would rather leave such a task to the more dependable Vitamix rather than the Dash.

Versus Similar Blenders:

Price:

  • At nearly half the price, the Dash Chef Series of Blenders is far more affordable than Vitamix Blenders. Even with such a severe reduction in price, the power output, design, and functions of the Dash Blenders are highly impressive.
 Design:
  • Vitamix still remains the superior blender when it comes to power and design of the blender. Even with the impressive offerings of the Dash, there remains a reason why it is so modestly priced compared to a Vitamix. The Vitamix Blender line will deliver consistently superior results in terms of consistency and ability to liquify ingredients. Along with this, Vitamix blenders take up less counter space.
Functions:
  • Both blenders are intended for a diversity of uses in the kitchen, and both series of blenders deliver. Overall though, the Vitamix can just do more. As mentioned before, the Vitamix single handily wins in terms of soup making versus the Dash Blender. Also, I prefer the Vitamix when it comes to making things like green smoothies and seed butters.
Overall:
  • Dash Chef Series Blenders are a great buy, but the Vitamix remains King of the Kitchen. There are plenty of things to like about the Dash, but the Vitamix basically does everything better than the Dash.

Value for Money?

The Dash Chef Series Digital Blender is my top choice for a blender costing less than $200. Features on the Dash truly amaze me for its price point, mainly being the amount of power offered and the sleek design of the machine. While I would not label it as a perfect blender, I find there to be far more things to like than to discredit. Overall, I give the Dash Chef Series Digital Blender a total of 4/5 stars.
