Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500 (BL770) Review

Review: Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500

Price Range:  $180-$200

Discount: Save at Amazon

Features:
  • 1500 Watts of Powered Blending
  • Blend Smoothies in On-the-Go Blending Cups
  • Added Bonus of a Food Processor Blending Pitcher
Pros:

Power? Check. Great Features? Check. Sleek Design? Check. One Great Price? Check.

Unleashing the Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500 will continue to surprise you with its myriad of pros. For a sub-$200 Blender, it is almost amazing that a single blender is able to offer so much for the price point. With most blenders some feature has to be sacrificed to get bonuses in a certain area. Vitamix Blenders are known for high powered blending. NutriBullet Blenders are known for making smoothies quickly for on-the-go blending. Ninja Blenders are known for being a utility blender with a unique trick or two. The Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500 has the good elements of all these much loved blenders.

Blending just about anything is possible with the entire setup of the Ninja Mega Kitchen 1500 Blender. The 1500 Watts of Power and 2 Horsepower Motor will provide enough power for the Ninja to blend ice, liquify fruits and leafy greens, and crush seeds. Even the toughest of leafy greens like kale and collard are no real issue, the greens liquify near completely (not to Vitamix perfection levels though). Any blending task that needs getting done, the Ninja will handle it.

Smoothie making is a true joy when customization exists. With the Ninja 1500 Blender, you will be able to blend massive smoothies in the 72 oz Blending Pitcher, or choose to make quick drinks in the Nutri Ninja Blending Cups. Now, 72 oz of smoothie will overwhelm just about anyone other than a competitive eater. If making enough smoothies for more than two people, the 72 oz Blending Pitcher works well.

For the day to day smoothie making, the Nutri Ninja Cups will suit you far better with their 16 oz capacity. Nutri Ninja Cups are simple, quick, and pack in the fruit and vegetable smoothie we all should try to drink every single day. As an added bonus, Ninja provides two Nutri Ninja Cups that are useful for a couple just getting into smoothies, or a mother and child trying to pick up fun healthy habits. Furthermore, the Nina already comes with a programmed function designed for blending smoothies in the Nutri Ninja Cups.

Beyond the drink making and daily smoothie blending, the Ninja offers even greater bonuses. In particular, the Ninja 1500 Blender provides an 8 Cup Food Processor. While the bonus Ninja Food Processor Pitcher will not beat out a high quality food processor, it will get the job done for just about any task. Beyond just chopping things like tomatoes, carrots, and onions, the Ninja will actually be able to mix dough. All be it, 8 Cups of dough mixing is not that much if you are making large amounts of cookies, bread dough, or pizza dough at any one time.

Cleanup of the Ninja BL770 ends up being a simple affair. Both the 72 oz Blending Pitcher and the 8 Cup Food Processor are the most difficult parts of the Ninja to clean. Now, this is due to both the removable blades being annoying to remove and the larger size of these pitchers. When cleaning though, just rinse out these pitchers and blades, then throw the components in the dishwasher on the bottom rack. The Nutri Ninja Cups are far easier to clean, you would be perfectly fine just cleaning them in the sink, but the dishwasher gets the job done more thoroughly.
Cons:

Removable Blender Blades have their downsides. With the 72 oz Blending Pitcher and the 8 Cup Food Processor, you will have to deal with these removable blades. First of all, these blades are super sharp. You must be careful when removing them and messing around with contents inside the Ninja. It is all too easy to prick yourself when not paying enough attention while your hands are close to the Ninja 1500 Blades. Luckily, this issue does not exist for the Nutri Ninja Cups as the blades are much better positioned.

Ninja 1500 Blender vs NutriBullet 900 Blender

 Price:

  • You will save more money going with the NutriBullet 900, nearly $60 more. Plenty of differences exist between these two blenders that justify the price difference. Most notably, the price of the Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500 costs so much more due to the extra features of the NutriBullet.
Design:
  • When looking for a traditional blender, go with the Ninja 1500. The Ninja Mega Kitchen System employs a relatively standard blender base that will easily fit into any kitchen. While the Ninja has a few design faults in terms of the blender blades, its blender pitchers hold up well. Be sure you understand what you are in for with the NutriBullet 900 S, a blender shaped like an egg that functions as a small personal blender.
Functions
  • The Ninja Mega Kitchen System clearly wins the Functions battle. With the Ninja, you will get a 72 oz Blending Pitcher, a Food Processor Attachment, and 2 Nutri Ninja Cups. All of these bonus functions of the Ninja alone should make it the winner, but it also comes with multiple blending speed abilities. With the NutriBullet, you are really just left with small single serve containers and pulse blending speed.
Overall:
  • Between these two blenders, the Ninja 1500 wins out due to its versatility and power. While the NutriBullet 900 serves well as a blender for on the go blending, it really has only limited abilities. With the Ninja 1500 you will receive a more powerful blender and two Nutri Ninja Cups, these features automatically outclass the NutriBullet 900.For the $60 price hike, the Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500 just gets the job done better in every conceivable field when compared to the NutriBullet.

Value for Money?

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500 will serve well as a blender that can fill many roles in the modern kitchen. Making drinks and dishes for an entire party will be easy with the 72 oz Blending Pitcher. If you want to make a small single serve smoothie, the Nutri Ninja Cups work well for that job as well. Overall, I give the Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500 a total of 3 out of 5 stars.

Ninja Mega Kitchen System 770 vs 771 vs 772

Price:
  • All three blenders hover around the $200 price point. With each additional feature, you will end up paying additional money. Going with the Ninja Mega Kitchen System BL 770 will save you about $30 when compared to the priciest of the three, the Ninja BL 772. For the best value on the dollar, the Ninja BL 771 wins out as it costs only $10 more than the Ninja BL 770.
Blending Power:
  • Up to 2 Horsepower of Blending Power can be found in each blender. Not one of these Ninja Blenders differ in blending speed or ability. If you are looking for a powerful blender with a low price, the Ninja Mega Kitchen System BL 770 will get the job done.
Design:
  • All three blenders are designed equally. Now, the biggest difference in design will come up with the difference between the food processor blending bowl. The Ninja BL 770 has a noticeably inferior food processing bowl when compared to the Ninja BL 771 and BL 772.
Features:
  • The Ninja BL 770 offers the fewest features. With the BL 770, you will get a 72 oz Blending pitcher, 2 Nutri Ninja Blending Cups, and a unique food processor bowl. With the BL 771 and BL 772 you will instead get a 3-Cup Food Processor Blending Bowl. This 3-Cup Food Processor is a great addition, far better than the offering of the BL 770. Also, the Ninja BL 772 offers an extra Nutri Ninja Blending Cup.
Overall:
  • To get all the best features for the best price, go with the Ninja Mega Kitchen System BL 771. With the BL 771, you will get the nice 3-Cup Food Processing Bowl for a great price. When going with the Ninja BL 770, you will pay a slightly lower price for a noticeably worse food processor bowl. Finally, the price hike for the Ninja BL772 simply does not justify itself for only one extra Nutri Ninja Cup.

Vitamix Pro Series 300 vs Vitamix Pro Sereis 750

Vitamix Pro Series 300 vs Vitamix Pro Series 750
Price:
  • Over $100 separates these two blender on Amazon.com. You will end up getting the better price with the Vitamix Professional Series 300 Blender. Now, the Vitamix Professional Series 750 will offer some great features that the Vitamix 300 lacks, so there is a reason for the price jump. In either case, both of these blenders will cost you more than $500.
Blending Power:
  • Both Vitamix Blenders offer a 2.2 Horsepower Motor. The ultra powerful motors of both the Vitamix Blenders will deliver stellar results. If you are looking for a blender that can handle just about any blending job, both the Vitamix 300 and Vitamix 750 are up to the task.
Design:
  • Each blender is basically identical in design. If buying from Amazon.com, you will notice that a difference in color options exists between the blenders. With the Vitamix 750, you will only be able to get the blender in a bronze finish. The Vitamix 300 offers a black or a red option in blender base. All colors are attractive, but I find the bronze color of the Vitamix 750 best.
Features:
  • Here is where the real difference exists. With the Vitamix 750, you are going to get five extra features in the blender. The Vitamix Company made an ingenious addition to this Vitamix Blender by providing these five functions: (1) Smoothies, (2) Frozen Desserts, (3) Soups, (4) Purees, and (5) Self-Cleaning. These five auto-blend functions are fantastic and really make a great blender into a nearly perfect one. The Vitamix 300 only offers Variable Speeds and a Pulse Function.

Overall:
  • Both Vitamix Blender are near identical. However, the Vitamix 750 offers automated blending functions which make blending so much simpler. These settings literally allow for you to set your blender and forget it. Now, you will have to hand over an extra $100 to get these features, which really makes for a tough decision. If you are a blender pro and love the art of blending, just go for the Vitamix 300 and save the money.
Vitamix Professional Series 300 Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • More Affordable Price. Save $100 Compared to Vitamix 750.
  • Classic Control Panel. Folks used to a simple interface will like the sleek face of the Vitamix 300.
  • Wide Blade Radius. Larger Blending Pitcher than Typical Vitamix Pitchers.
Cons:
  • Lacks Programmed Settings. No automated blending.
Vitamix Professional Series 750 Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Automated Blending Functions. Five useful functions.
  • Self Cleaning Function. This programmed setting is really nifty and makes the cleanup process simpler.
  • Wide Blade Radius. Larger Blending Pitcher than Typical Vitamix Pitchers.
Cons:
  • Higher Price. Bonus features will cost an extra $100.

- Update: There was a misunderstanding in the differences between the respective blenders' motors. Our apologies. Thank you, Reker. -

Joyoung DJ13U-D08SG Soy Milk Maker Review

Product Review: Joyoung DJ13U-D08SG Soy Milk Maker

Price Range:  $170-$200

Discount: Save at Amazon

Features:
  • Stainless Steel Build
  • Digital Control Panel
  • Automated Functions
  • Makes Grains, Nuts, and Fruit Drinks
Pros:

Discover the joy of making soy milk in the comfort of your own home. For too long I purchased my soy milk from the grocery store. Not to mention the unwanted additives (oils and preservatives) and excessive amounts of sugar, the price point of store bought soy milk was just too high. The Joyoung DJ13U Soy Milk Maker makes the entire soy milk making process a simple and enjoyable experience.

To make soy milk ever morning, all I have to do is some preparatory planning. First and foremost, I always soak soy beans before making soy milk. The night before I will soak usually 1/2 cup of soybeans with a dash of baking soda for 8 hours. Upon waking up I rinse the soybeans and run them through the soy milk making function in the Joyoung. In 25 minutes I will have a hot batch of soy milk ready for use. Great when pairing the soy milk with my morning tea, which will produce enough soy milk for 4-5 cups of tea.

After finishing with the soy milk making process, speedy cleanup is absolutely essential. Joyoung claims that a filter is not needed, but I still siphon off the chunky pulp (okara) and save it to be used in later dishes. After all the milk is emptied out, you want to rinse off the entire stainless steel section as fast as possible to prevent any sort of 'crusting'. Personally, I prefer just washing the soy milk maker in the ink as I do not truly think they are meant to be cleaned in a dishwasher. Once rinsed out and washed with warm soapy water, I simply leave it on the counter to dry.

Besides making soy milk, all kinds of milks and drinks can be made in this nifty Joyoung machine. In particular, I find grain milks to be especially satisfying and a joy to make. Overall, I still prefer to classic taste of soybeans, but drinks made of oat groats, flax seed, and rye berries all have been quite satisfying. Beyond that, nut milks can also be made, but it will require a bit more fine tuning since it is not a programmed function of the machine.

Simplicity and functionality are the biggest selling points of the Joyoung DJ13U. The digital control panel of the Joyoung make the entire soy milk making process as easy as pressing a button. Honestly, the most difficult parts of operating this machine are the cleanup process and remembering to presoak the beans and grains the night before. Otherwise, an elderly person (even a Mandarin speaker) will be able to operate the Joyoung on a daily basis without any major hassle.

Cons:

Compared to the SoyaJoy G4, you are going to have a bit less capacity to make soy milk. While the Joyoung is by no means small, it certainly is noticeably smaller than the SoyaJoy (a whole 400 mL smaller). This will not prevent making bulk soy milk, but it means you will be limited by about 25% at max capacity versus the market leading SoyaJoy. Not a big deal if you are just making soy milk for daily or every other day uses.

Joyoung DJ13U vs SoyaJoy G4

Price:

  • Nearly $50 separates these two Soy Milk Makers. At $140, the SoyaJoy G4 is substantially cheaper than the Joyoung DJ13U. As a market leader too, the SoyaJoy G4 offers some of the best features out of all Soy Milk Makers. Between the two machines, features are nearly similar.
Design:
  • Aesthetically, the Joyoung Soy Milk Maker is far more beautiful. Joyoung takes great pride in the visual design of their appliances. With the Joyoung you will get a machine with a rich, creamy white color, accented by a gold lining. SoyaJoy look much more utilitarian. All in all though, the machines perform the job they were design to do, but I vastly prefer the idea of displaying the Joyoung on my kitchen counter versus the SoyaJoy.
Functions:
  • Both Soy Milk Makers are filled with bonus features. Each machine specifically has a function to make grain milks and raw milks/juices. Beyond that, the SoyaJoy seems to perform better as soup maker than the Joyoung. However, the Joyoung includes cooking functions in both English and Chinese which is a great bonus for older Chinese immigrant who miss the taste of actual soy milk.
Overall:
  • Both Soy Milk Makers will be sure to please any buyer. While the Joyoung is almost $50 more expensive, I honestly just prefer it more because it is a beautiful appliance. In terms of the soy milk making process though, you will do slightly better with going for the SoyaJoy G4 Soy Milk Maker.

Value for Money?

The Joyoung DJ13U is all one can ask for in a Soy Milk Maker. Making soy milk, or any grain/nut milk, is beyond simple. Yes, some extra steps and speedy cleanup are needed to make your own milk, but the quality of the drink is beyond worth it. When buying your own organic soy beans, you will begin saving money instantly by not being forced to buy soy milk from the store. Also, milks like oat milk and flax milk are near impossible to get at convenient locations, so homemade is really the only way to go. Overall, I give the Joyoung DJ13U a total of 5/5 stars.

NutriBullet Pro 900 S vs. Ninja Pro Blender NJ600

Price:
  • About $40 separates the NutriBullet Pro 900 from the Ninja Pro Blender NJ600. At less than $100, the Ninja NJ600 makes for one attractive blender. Plenty of features can be found in this Ninja Blender for its price point of $90. For $40 more, the NutriBullet offers it own unique features that may convince some to make the upgrade.
Blending Power:
  • Both blenders reach nearly the same power output. The Ninja NJ600 slightly edges out the NutriBullet by offering 1000 Watts of power over the 900 Watts of power in the NutriBullet. Power wattage does not mean blending success though, the Ninja is forced to disperse its power in a large 72 oz blending container, where the NutriBullet focuses its power in a small container.
Design:
  • The Ninja Blender offers a cleaner and more traditional design. I personally prefer sleek and design features of the typical American kitchen. With the Ninja NJ600, the blender base is just a simple square style box with easy to press buttons. Along with that, the blending pitcher is also a boxy style that just looks nice. NutriBullet is a nice enough blender, but it is a round and egg shaped blender. Plus, the blending container is also rounded instead of having the sharp corners of the Ninja.
Features:
  • Here is the biggest divide between the Ninja and the NutriBullet. With the Ninja you will find a large 72 oz blending pitcher, a selection of 3 speed settings, and 6 blade technology. On the side of the NutriBullet, you will get on-the-go blending cups and greater technology designed for making smoothies. The Ninja is the more versatile blender, but fails in the realm of smoothies when compared to the NutriBullet.
Overall:
  • Each choice will get the job done for what they are designed for. For the smoothie lovers out there, the NutriBullet Pro 900 will make the better choice of a blender. The Ninja Pro NJ600 is more of an entertainment blender not meant to be used on a daily basis. Neither of these blenders are perfect, but they both fulfill the niche they were meant for.

NutriBullet 900 Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • On-the-Go Blending. Make smoothies quickly and easily up to 32 oz.
  • Concentrated Blending. Everything blends in a more even fashion for better consistency.
  • Easy Cleanup. With smaller blending containers and built in blades, this is an easy blender to clean.
Cons:
  • Limited Capacity. 32 oz of blending may not be enough for 3 or 4 people.
  • Lower Total Power Output. 100 Watts less than the Ninja NJ600.
  • Customer Service. The NutriBullet Company lacks in comparison to the Ninja Company.

Ninja Pro Blender NJ600 Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Multiple Blending Speeds. Fine tune your blending recipes.
  • 72 oz Blending Container. This is a whole lot of space to blend just about anything.
  • More Affordable. For less than $100, get a versatile blender.
Cons:
  • Blending Consistency Not as Great. Large blender capacity and 6 blade design will miss small pieces.
  • Cleaning 72 oz is Not Fun. Splatter is higher in this blender and blades are a far greater pain to clean.
  • Smoothies Not Easy To Make. With a 72 oz blending container, these blended smoothies are just not meant to be made for on-the-go blending.

NutriBullet Pro 900 S vs. Ninja Pro Blender BL660

Price:
  • Both Blenders will set you back about $130 when buying from Amazon. All in all, the divisions between these blenders are nearly identical, so it will come down to personal choice as to which blender to pick.
Blending Power:
  • The Ninja Pro Blender edges out the NutriBullet with its 1100 Watts of power.  Even though the NutriBullet only reaches 900 Watts of power, its blending power actually comes close to the Ninja. The NutriBullet is better designed to blend small quantities of items at a time, the Ninja comes out with nearly identical results since it blends larger batches at a time.
Design:
  • I prefer the design of the Ninja Blender. While the Ninja does not beat out the design of the Vitamix, it still looks better in the kitchen than the NutriBullet. The Ninja Pro Blender BL660 employs about as standard a design as one could expect, but it is not necessarily a high grade blender. NutriBullet Blenders have an egg shaped design, which I personally do not care for.
Features:
  • All in all, the Ninja Pro Blender offers many more features. With the Ninja Blender, you will be able to choose from multiple blending functions. Along with that, the Ninja comes with a 72 oz blending pitcher and two blend on the go cups. On the downside though, the blades in the Ninja re removable which has some downsides. For the NutriBullet, there only is one blending speed. Along with that, you can only blend a maximum of 32 oz at any one time.
Overall:
  • Anyone looking for a traditional blender should go with the Ninja Pro. With just overall better blending technology and blending ability, the Ninja wins on a pure basis. Since both blenders cost the same price, you are best off going with the sure thing versus the more niche NutriBullet Blender.

NutriBullet Pro 900 Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • Better On the Go Blending. If you are wanting to blend quickly, the NutriBullet gets the job done.
  • Built in Blades. Easier to clean and handle.
  • Cleanup Easier. Just like the blades, the smaller blending cups are easier to clean.
Cons:
  • Smaller Blending Capacity. Maxed out at 32 oz.
  • Slightly Less Powerful. Technically, 200 Watts weaker.
  • Limited Blending Functions. Only one blending speed.
  • Sketchy Customer Service. Fallout over durability of NutriBullet.
Ninja Pro Blender BL660 Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • More Powerful Blender. Blend more difficult dishes and drinks.
  • Greater Blending Capacity. Blend up to 72 oz at once.
  • On the Go Blending Cups Included. Two cups to make drinks quickly.
  • Multiple Blending Speeds. Add finesse to your blending jobs.
  • Better Customer Service. Greater access to warranty claims and customer call centers.
Cons:
  • Blending Small Quantities More Difficult. Not as well designed for small tasks.
  • More Difficult to Clean. Removable blades and larger containers make for a longer clean up.
  • Impossible to Mill Grains. Ninja can not mill at all due to blade design.

NutriBullet Pro 900 S vs. Ninja Master Prep

Price:
  • The NutriBullet 900 will cost you almost $100 more than the Ninja Master Prep. Plenty of positives come with that higher price point though. If you are looking for a casual blender not truly designed for smoothie making, the lower priced Ninja Master Prep may be the more attractive offer.
Blending Power:
  • As the name would suggest, the NutriBullet offers 900 watts of blending power. The Ninja Master Prep only blends with 400 watts of power. This comes out to being over twice as much blending power being stored in the NutriBullet. For blending things quickly and thoroughly, the NutriBullet 900 totally outshines the Ninja Master Prep.
Design:
  • Each of these blenders meets its design needs well. With the Ninja Master Prep, this blender is compact and attractive as a small blender. Blades in the Ninja Master Prep are removable and relatively sharp. The NutriBullet 900 Blender is egg shaped and a tad larger than the Ninja Master Prep. The NutriBullet Blender is designed much more like a traditional blender as it has a bottom blending base, where the Ninja functions from the top down.
Features:
  • Each blender differs quite a bit in features offered. The Ninja Master Prep functions much more as a unique hybrid between blender and food processor. Making frozen fruit smoothies in the Ninja is easy enough, as well as making things like chopped salads and bean dips. On the blending side of things though, the NutriBullet does a much better job of things. Blend just about anything in the on the go cups in the NutriBullet quickly and easily.
Overall:
  • Based purely on which appliance is the better blender, the NutriBullet Pro 900 S wins out. However, the Ninja Master Prep offers plenty of unique features that the NutriBullet just does not do well. For anyone looking for a casual blending machine, go with the Ninja since it has such a low price. If looking for a smoothie maker, the NutriBullet 900 is the much better choice.
NutriBullet Pro 900 Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Powerful Blender. 900 Watts of Blending Power.
  • Traditional. Blend from the bottom up, not the top down.
  • Better Blend Blades. Not as tricky as Ninja Blades.
  • On the Go Blending. Blend and be on the go in less than a minute or two.
Cons:
  • Higher Price. Will cost about $150.
  • Single Function. Make smoothies, everything else is a bit tricky.
  • Larger Footprint. Will hog a little more kitchen space.
Ninja Master Prep Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Easy to store. Few parts and small size.
  • Affordable Price. Have it shipped to our door for less than $40.
  • Multiple Uses. Blend icy drinks and use as a food processor.
Cons:
  • Low Bending Power. 400 Watts limits blending options.
  • Removable Blades. Easier to cut yourself and a pain to clean.
  • Will Likely Want to Upgrade. Save now, but pay later.

Vitamix Professional Series 300 Review

Product Review: Vitamix Professional Series 300

Price Range:  $500-$550

Features:
  • Variable Blending Speeds
  • 64 Ounce Blender Container
  • 2 Horsepower Blender Motor
  • 7 Year Warranty
Pros:

Unlock all the bells and whistles you could hope for with the Vitamix Professional Series 300. After seeing videos on Youtube of people that blend entire bushels of fruit and baskets of vegetables, I always wondered how that was possible. The secret is simple, the Vitamix blends just about anything. Ice, fruit, seeds, and vegetables will all equally blend into whatever liquid I so desire.

With a 2 Horsepower motor, this blender will liquify anything and everything it comes into contact with. There is a reason restaurants and juice bars choose to use Vitamix Blenders in their kitchens. High powered blenders also means fruits and vegetables blend quickly. Don't stand around for minutes blending and jostling the ingredients around in the blender. Just ensure enough liquid is in the blender and everything will blend quickly.

Only with a Vitamix Blender can I make perfect smoothies and hot soups. Blenders like the Nutri Bullet, Ninja Blenders, and Oster Blenders will not make perfect smoothies. Even the hardest of ingredients to blend like chia seeds and raspberry seeds turn into a liquid. Furthermore, no low-end blender on the market can make a hot soup. With the Vitamix Pro Series 300, I simply load my soup ingredients into the blender container, seal the blending container, and leave the blender for about six minutes blending on an automatic blending setting.

Quality of Vitamix Blenders just amaze me. Vitamix Pro Series 300 comes with some of the greatest features I have seen in Vitamix Blenders. With this blender, you will get: a blending base, 64 oz blending container, and a 200 + recipe book.  Below I will list what I like about each feature:

Blending Base
  • One word, Attractive. Choose between a sharp looking onyx or a vibrant ruby color. Ten different speed settings allow for great customization in the blending consistency. Also included is a pulse setting for quick blending jobs. The blending base itself is quite compact and will easily fit under a counter.
 Blending Container
  • Vitamix continues to innovate with their blending containers. With such a sleek design, this blending container actually may be more attractive than the blending base. The BPA-Free Plastic of this container can hold up to 64 oz of liquid, and also has a measure on the side of the container. Stainless steel blending blades are attached to the bottom of this blender with a sturdy metal turbine.
Recipe Book
  • Just a great freebie. The recipe book itself is hardcover and includes beautiful full color photos. You may or may not actually use recipe books, which is no big deal with blenders. None the less, the measurements in this book make it easy to build your own recipes quickly.
Cleanup of this Vitamix Professional Series 300 goes by so quickly. After emptying the blending container of its contents, fill the blending container about a third of the way and add a few drops of dish soap. Place the blending container on the blender base and pulse a few times. Rinse out in the sink and your blender will be fine. Alternatively, Vitamix blender containers clean up beautifully in the dish washer on the bottom rack.

Cons:

Some life long Vitamix users do not like the wider mouth blending containers. Traditionally, Vitamix containers measure tall rather than wide for 64 oz models. With the Vitamix Professional Series 300 Blender you are going to get the wide mouth container. Personally, I do not mind the wide mouth style and find it to be more useful than the vertical style models.

While this the Vitamix Pro Series 300 will blend on its own and does not require constant monitoring, this blender lacks automated functions. Vitamix Professional Series 750 Blenders do come with automated functions for making smoothies, soups, and icy drinks. The VItamix 300 still includes plenty of variation with ten possible speeds, but it requires a bit more supervision.

Vitamix Pro Series 300 vs NutriBullet 900

Price:
  • At nearly $400 more the Vitamix will cost you a pretty penny. Plenty of extra features and upgrades come with the Vitamix, but it really is a huge price difference compared to the NutriBullet. What should ultimately be taken into consideration is whether or not you would want to buy a single blender for the rest of your life. With the NutriBullet, it is likely that your blender will break within the next five years. Vitamix comes with a Seven Year Warranty, and should last even longer than those seven years.
 Design:
  • Vitamix just outshines in every conceivable way when it comes to design. Nutri Bullet Blenders are smaller and more compact than the Vitamix, but that is a small concession. With the Vitamix, you will get a sleek looking blender made with the highest quality materials you could ask for. Of particular attention, the blender blades on the Vitamix Professional Series 300 are heavy duty and durable, the Nutri Bullet blades are flimsy in comparison.
 Functions
  • Vitamix allows for variable blending speeds and automatic blending. With the Nutri Bullet 900, you will be limited to pulse blending out of fear of burning out a blending motor. The Vitamix will be able to blend more difficult tasks like super icy drinks, seeds. and dips. Not to mention that the Vitamix can make soups, where the Nutri Bullet can not even come close to making a passable soup.
Overall
  • Even though the Nutri Bullet Pro 900 Series is almost $400 cheaper, its features and design lack so much compared to the Vitamix. With the potential of lasting nearly an entire lifetime, the Vitamix Professional Series 300 will offer a better bang for the buck. Upgrading from something like the Nutri Bullet to the Vitamix will be a day you never forget.

Value for Money?

The Vitamix Professional Series 300 is one of the best blenders currently on the market. With one of the most powerful blender motors around, the Vitamix can handle any blending job you can think of. Furthermore, the Vitamix 300 offers something new to the whole situation with its wide mouth blending container. While the price point may be high, the value and satisfaction this blender will offer over an entire life is priceless. Overall, I give the Vitamix Professional Series 300 a total of 5/5 stars.
